How Manufacturers are Responding to Global Threats and Domestic Challenges While Putting Our Principles First
MSCI welcomes Jay Timmons, President and CEO of the National Association of Manufacturers, for our June fireside chat. The NAM is the largest manufacturing trade association in the United States, and Jay also serves as chairman of the board of the Manufacturing Institute, the NAM’s workforce development and education partner.
With America’s economy, values and institutions facing threats from around the world, Timmons will discuss the ways that manufacturers are uniquely leading to defend democracy at home and abroad and advance the values of free enterprise, competitiveness, individual liberty and equal opportunity. In recent years, the NAM has been a leading champion for critical bipartisan legislation, including the infrastructure law and the CHIPS and Science Act. And as an influential voice on the world stage, the NAM recently welcomed President Zelenskyy of Ukraine to address the NAM’s board of directors, and Timmons has traveled to Europe to strengthen transatlantic relationships with key leaders in the EU, Britain, France, Germany, Switzerland, Poland and Belgium.
June is Pride Month, and the conversation with Jay will also delve in the importance of executives setting an example for their teams by bringing their authentic selves to work. An industry that leads with its values publicly must also live its values in the workplace.
