·       What is your current position? What is your area of focus?

o   As a Sales Representative and Product Manager for Delta Steel, I handle a book of accounts while simultaneously purchasing hot-rolled carbon products for the DFW branch. It is truly rewarding to get to work with our vendors and learn more about the products that I sell every day.

·       What are your Career Journey Highlights?

o   During the Summer of 2018, I was selected to join a team called the “Champion” Program. Our team traveled from all over to come together and teach the software changeover implementation for Delta Steel. It was one of my favorite memories of getting to know people from different backgrounds and branches across all the Infra-Metals and Delta Steel divisions.

o   I followed my father’s footsteps into the industry, and it has been so rewarding to work with people I have known since childhood. I cherish the memories that he and I were able to make together attending NASCC conferences and bonding over the industry.

o   In December 2022, I completed my MBA at Southern Methodist University with a concentration in finance. For two years, I worked full-time while attending classes at night.

·       In terms of your career, where do you see yourself 5-10 years from now?

o   In 5-10 years from now, I see myself continuously learning and leading a team of highly motivated individuals that come from different generations and backgrounds, all working together!

·       What is one piece of advice you would give to others just starting out in the metals industry?

o   There is so much to learn! Seek out mentorship and learn from those who have been in the industry for many years. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and be passionate about everything you do!

·       What motivated you to get into the metals industry?

o   It’s in my blood! I grew up in Midlothian, Texas near what used to be known as Chaparral Steel. I spent my summers running through the Chaparral office as a child where I got to know people that I am lucky to work with every day!

·       What is the most exciting or rewarding aspect of your work?

o   The most rewarding aspect of my work is hearing from a happy customer after a successful order is completed by our team.

·       What do you hope to gain by being an MSCI member?

o   I hope to gain additional industry education and life-long connections.

·       Goals for the FORGE AHEAD Community as a Committee Member?

o   My goal for the FORGE AHEAD community is that we grow a network of Gen Z and Millennials that find a place to belong here in the steel industry! My hope is that we bring together our generations with the generations before us, to maintain long-lasting and successful careers together.

·       Tell us about yourself outside of work!

§  Favorite hobby – Wake surfing in the summer

§  Favorite travel destination – The British Virgin Islands

§  Fun Fact – I lived in Europe one summer during undergrad. I spent the first half studying Spanish in Madrid, Spain, and the other half at an internship for a piling company in Munich, Germany.
